CF Booth is an enormous scrapyard in Rotherham for ferrous and non ferrous metals, and non ferrous melting shop. It's gantry cranes and derrick cranes make the site quite distinctive. London tube rolling stock and various trains are scrapped here, and recycled. Today, it is one of the largest manufacturers of copper based products in the UK. CF Booth also provides machining services on large billet and slab metal sections, which supply customers in the marine, oil and gas and defence industries.

Excellent photos, but this is 2013! I went here just before you did, I can remember.

37415 is now scrapped, but the blue 56009 is now at Shackerstone on the Battlefield Line. It's stored for now but will eventually be rebuilt and re-engined as part of a life extension project.

Excellent. Love these :) Was going to say about the 56, now in the company of the sorry looking 45015 at the Battlefield Line.

Yes, you're right, my mistake - I posted the wrong date it was November 2013, I will amend the title. Thanks for checking my photos out, and for the info on the 37415 and 56009. I loved climbing around on the 37415, but sad to see it in such a sorry state.

These are from 2013 (put the wrong date by mistake, sorry!) CF Booths is definitely worth a visit. I'm not sure what's there at the moment, but I'm sure they'll have something interesting...
