I know this site has been done to death so I will keep the history short.
Cliffe fort was built in the mid 19Th century as part of a the defence of the Thames as part of triangular set of defense paired with Shornemead and coalhouse fort.
The fort is one of the first places to test torpedo systems and there are still remains of the launching systems.
In WW2 the observation towers and anti aircraft guns were constructed within the fort.
The fort was decommissioned shortly after the war. Sadly the fort looks like the issue of subsidence is really taking hold of some parts of the structure .
on with my pictures;

4. Signs of subsidence and general rot
5. Pretty sure this crack wasn't as big last time
6. A bit of role reversal going on

This is my very 1st report/post so any comments welcome.
