I'll resize the oversize pics tomorrow when photobucket catches up
Been meaning to get back up here for ages. Finally found the time.
explored with my daughter, "Toots".
Cochno Waterworks were built around 1907 and went offline around 1995 or so. Planning permission is imminent for a 32 bed nursing home on the site seemingly.
so first view you get as you drive up
watertower looks promising till you notice someone has cut off the bottom part of the ladders. note to self, time to buy a telescopic ladder.
getting through here was even tighter than it looked
helluva little space between this ladder and the wall and only a tiny opening above so I did the decent thing and sent Toots up instead
think the pikeys got beat by the pyromaniacs to this room
then I looked up
nice bit of mosaic in the floor
watch yer footing FFS Toots
its quite a stretch gettin up here
well pikied control panel
next, (top I think) floor is about 2 inches deep of pigeon shit and loads of nests so I went back down
nature is slowly taking over
and that was us walked the length of the place
on the way out I noticed this and thought "ah, saved me puting in a sig".
loads more to see in there and the view from the watertower over the clyde valley must be phenomenal. worth a return visit with a ladder.
