A short explore of an odd little building at the entrance to Collingwood Dock, on the opposite side of the road to the mighty Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse. The dock itself was built in 1848, but this looks more recent and was presumably the dock office, built with a sawn-off corner to allow the existing railway line to curve in.

Having previously looked round most of the other smaller buildings on the seaward side of the main dock wall (the bit where you are not supposed to be) I wasn’t expecting much content, and indeed there wasn’t any. But the rooms themselves were quite nice because of all the windows.

Front view with the Victoria tower just visible to the left, and a view from up in the warehouse on a rather wet day.

View from the rear showing that there was originally a shed attached to the back.

The main attractions in this area are of course the huge warehouses behind - still easy to access as conversion into apartments progresses and probably the best value mooch if you are passing through Liverpool.

Suitably dated, I like it.

Do you think there is much more to come out of that area, or are we seeing the last of it now? It's been several years since I've really spent time round there...

I think there is more in the area, there's a couple of mills I've looked at but not got in plus the massive grain silo down true Rd has a building outside with signage saying switch room, again i didn't find a way in..It's one of them areas thats got a lot to offer….plus the pump house.

Sill numerous warehouses. Who knows which are still actually used anymore! Quite a bit in the docks too.
