County Hospital Mortuary, Durham.
Part of a fairly large Victorian Hospital site, here are some photographs from the Mortuary building there. Have been up here a couple of times, firstly in August alongside the visit to the Maiden Law Mortuary.
The County Hospital in Durham was built in the 1850’s and has been vacated since 2010 / 2011 with plans to demolish most of the 1950’s additions to the Victorian parts. There is a scheme with planning in place to convert / construct new accommodation housing up to 440 students.
Clough and I didn’t get to Durham until late afternoon and by the time we’d buggered about trying to find our way into the hospital buildings it was almost dark so binned it off, took some photos of the morgue and went to have some chips.
