For some reason i thought i had already posted my shots before!
"This photograph is of the front of Denbigh Asylum once bustling with life now left abandoned for over 15 years in north wales. The north wales lunatic asylum was finished in 1848 and was closed in 1995. The asylum was built due to the mistreatment of welsh people in english asylums. Denbigh asylum would be a haven for welsh speaking residents and be more comfortable within the hospital. The asylum had renovations and extensions through its life as the asylum reached its maximum capacity at 1,500 patients living in the asylum and 1,000 staff working. In 1960 Enoch Powell proposed that psychiatric care facilities be attatched to general hospitals .This was the start of the end for Denbigh asylum. It was closed in sections from 1991-2002, the main hospital was closed in 1995."
These shots were for my final project for college in 2011, so heres some oldies hope you enjoy them:
Took this on my d40 first time round visiting,
Then a few months later with my D7000,
Nikon F3 shots
