Visited last night as the 2nd part of our night out in Dover

...The Detached Bastion is a moated island earthwork in the North Lines of the Western Heights, Dover, and was constructed in the early 19th century. It is made up of two galleries which run either side of the bastion. There are lots of small slits in the wall each side to allow rifle fire...

Had the time to walk round the whole structure, and the size of it was quite surprising. just watch out for the holes in the slate floors and the big spiders that are everywhere!
