A few pictures taken from my recent explore of Draycott Cross Colliery. Please enjoy.

I entered inside the mine through this shaft (pictured above). I believe this was used as a waste disposal shaft where there was a winch at the bottom. There was quite a decline and the corrugated iron made the descent quite challenging.

At the bottom we slid through a small hole. It was quite cramped. This lead us into what appeared to be a railway tunnel. At some points there was brickwork that had been knocked through. They led us into some side tunnels that I imagine were used for mining the coal. One of the tunnels was flooded so we returned back to the main tunnel.

There still remained some old rail karts for transporting the coal. This was a cool explore for me as I've done a coal mine before.

The place has some corrugated iron missing. It looked as though there was sandstone behind them.

Thanks for reading.
