April saw myself, Geo, Clough and Derphouse taking a little break across to the Balearic isle of Mallorca to soak up some pre-summer sunshine.
Thirst for turbans and the Power plant at Alcúdia meant that our few days over there was based around getting in there at some point… in fact, the power plant became the gravy to all the other good stuff we found.
First of a few little delights seen on the island, this extremely old and virtually unmolested belt driven spinning mill high up in the mountains. Bit of a chance find as it stuck out like a sore thumb in what was a fairly respectable and touristy little town, spent so long here we got a parking ticket.
Closed in 1971, this mill contained all its original machinery, records, documents, samples and all manner of gubbins. We were pretty gobsmacked by the contents, which were made all the better by being bathed in delicious Mediterranean sunshine, anyhow enough waffle: Photos.
