Report - Former food warehouse and offices- Lancashire May 2020

Former Bidfood warehouse and offices in Scarisbrick, Lancashire. Can’t find a date of when the site was built but with the exception of the house and an outer building which seem to date back to at least the early 1900’s the rest comprises of standard office and warehouse blocks. Previously traded as Booker foods and 3663 which apparently is the numbers used to create the word FOOD on an old mobile telephone.
Bidfood closed the site in 2018 and it was listed for sale at £1.4 million with a view to demolish the buildings and create housing. It seems to have had a rough 12 months with a fair bit of stripping done though most of the stripped parts are still on site and quite a lot of office furniture remains. I noticed mainly in the sales section a lot of target driven positive motivational notices just to remind you that you are in work.

I didn’t have a bright enough torch for the warehouse bays so not explored fully if you go you may want to do that, so dark in their with zero natural light was a bit creepy to say the least. Also lots of old paperwork around if your into reading all that kinda stuff.

My dad's friend was a lorry mechanic at this place for many years. There used to be a fleet of 7.5ton fridge lorries. As stated previously it traded a Booker 3663. But before that it was called Pullman Foods.
