I believe this is the first report on this site on the forums, sorry if it's a bit pic-heavy!
Visited today (finally!) with Bryag.
Location is here -
Zoom Earth | LIVE weather map, storm tracker, rain radar
Very little history on this place, I imagine it is similar to Fort South Sutor - built in WW1 and extended at the start of WW2, then decommisioned shortly after.
Loads to see on this site, all stripped out sadly, but generally in good nick otherwise.
Pictures aren't the best I'm afraid - I was using an elderly Olympus D-380 2.0 Megapixel camera - Bryag will put mine to shame when he posts :)
On with the pics....
Approach to first emplacement.

Gotta love the little "rockery" affair in front of the gun emplacement - camoflauge purposes I assume, if someone knows I'd like to hear about it...
FortNorthSutor5thNov031.jpg

Plenty to see above ground
FortNorthSutor5thNov055.jpg

Good to see local products used :D

FortNorthSutor5thNov084.jpg

There was a fair bit of graffiti scratched on some wall, this was a good age at least
FortNorthSutor5thNov079.jpg

The second gun emplacement was in better nick
FortNorthSutor5thNov163.jpg

And we found this :)

Which had this inside :):)
FortNorthSutor5thNov116.jpg

Access to the magazine - great stuff!
FortNorthSutor5thNov125.jpg

Numbered oak slats bolted to the wall - we assumed these would be to stack shells against?
FortNorthSutor5thNov124.jpg

Some rather splendid stalagtites :D
FortNorthSutor5thNov143.jpg

I'll leave the other bunker pics for Bryags ones - much better!
Except of course for the obligatory random boot :D
FortNorthSutor5thNov145.jpg

A somewhat worrying 9mm blank round:eek:
FortNorthSutor5thNov172.jpg

What appeared to be mess-rooms at the rear of emplacements
FortNorthSutor5thNov177.jpg

The camoflauge paint was in great nick too on all the buildings - loved it :D
FortNorthSutor5thNov191.jpg

There were a lot of bunkers scattered about in the undergrowth on the site - this one was particularly unusual I thought - brick lined room inside, very high ceilings, and lino throughout - any info as to use etcetera would be great

Lino - posh!

Last shot, of the view - a lovely spot this :)

A great explore for a sunny afternoon this one, shame we couldn't access the CASLs on the shore... never mind, a good time had by all.

OK, Zimbob has laid down the gorundwork for the above explore! First time we have met and a jolly nice chap he is too. May I take this opportunity to thank Zimbob for an explore I would most certainly not have undertaken on my own.

Enough of the waffle. Here are some of my pics:

Re your picture No 3 entitled Green stuff. Were the 3 concrete pillars in a lookout post?

I would be inclined to say YES, but that is merely an educated guess.

They were in the lowest level of a three tier construction. The level these "mini" pillars were situated was only about 4 feet in height. Here are a couple of exterior shots:

It looks like the main slab of the roof has broken off and into two pieces.
