History: (taken from HughieD) Gainsborough’s Lea Road Infant's School was built and opened on 3rd May 1906 replacing the Bridge Road and Hickman Street Schools. Initially (the first three decades of its life) it was an infants’ (up to age 7) school. In August 1930 it re-organised to accommodate Infants, Junior Girls and Senior Girls. The Gainsborough Lea Road School became Gainsborough Lea Road County Primary School and Gainsborough Lea Road Secondary Modern School for girls around 1945 it had its own indoor pool which was built circa 1966 in the end ground floor classroom.

Exploration: This place defiantly has a really weird and creepy vibe to it (it could have been because I explored this place alone). due to the way you have to get in now it also feels like you are trapped inside this horror movie setting. the majority of the rooms have the ceilings falling down suspended in the air by cables and fittings, there is a lot of debris on the floor although everywhere feels safe to walk on (even upstairs).
one thing to look out for would be the many pigeons which live in the roof... they love to fly out when everything is quite and make you jump out your skin. It would be advised to take a breaking mask and be wary not to disturb the fabric of the building as there is a lot of loose insulation and asbestos.
overall a great exploration, really atmospheric setting but I would defiantly recommend taking a friend to hold your hand!
