BACKGROUND:
Built in 1833 as a country house. In 1949 the estate was sold off with the council buying the mansion. Then in 1952 they opened it as a school for rural education, taking in boarders and day pupils.
In 1973 it closed then fell into disrepair.
In 2005 it recieved backing and work began to overhaul and modernise it for education purposes again.
Judging by the unfinished state , this refurbishment was never fully completed.
In 2014 a young foreign business man bought the school but he died a year later.
So now it sits in a state of flux - just waiting for something to happen.
Yes ive not named it as this place is vunerable. Complain if you want. DM if you wish.

THE EXPLORE:
One of my favourite explores of the year.

A pretty much unknown explore in Scotland and i've not seen anything about it on here, social media, youtube etc. So maybe i get to name it what i want? ;)

Thankfully, due to its location it doesnt get the attention that usually afflicts such places and so we really enjoyed exploring somewhere with no pigeons, very minimal graffiti & vandalism.

Due to the various uses of the building everything feels a bit of a mishmash -
traditional mixed with generic new.

Anybody who's really interested will find this place anyway through research, I'm not entirely sure who would be massively bothered about going to the effort of that for this place though really...?

Well done for finding it, but really if you want to keep a place secret the best way to do it is to keep the pics and info to yourself, soon as the reports up it's only a matter of time until the cat's out the bag. There's one or two things I've kept to myself for that very reason, they'll end up on here in time no doubt.
