Hamilton lodge

History:

Hamilton Lodge is a residential care setting for people with learning disabilities, recently it has refurbished the main building as a specialist resource for people with complex needs and Autism. It offers care and support for up to 34 individuals at a time. Hamilton lodge is set on an 18 acre piece of land. The house itself as the main building was first established in 1942.

Two distinct services. Selbourne Court provides support for up to 18 older persons with a learning disability who have lived on the site for many years. Bristowe Close is comprised of four separate bungalows, each containing four self-contained flats.

Support is provided for people with a learning disability who may have autistic spectrum disorders, mental health needs and/or complex behavioural needs.

The explore:
After kindly being given this location by a local explorer we didn't hesitate to go and check the place out. Once arriving we realised this place was huge, it looked like a massive estate with a winding road into it similar to Leverton secure unit. First thing was a huge pond with a little rowing boat that was massively overgrown and stunk. Then to these small cabin type things that looked something out of an American film with old scout huts.We couldn't get in them but had a look through the window.

Then we were greeted by the main Hamilton lodge!

It was beautiful it was a lovely sunny day. So after lots of struggling we managed to finally get inside. First room was filled with xmas decorations and lots of pottery.

Each room was numbered and had lots of different things in some were empty some had beds and personal belongings inside still. The place was pretty undamaged and well kept apart from this room which had obviously had a leak at some point.

Then the main corridors and bedrooms.

The best part was yet to come the beautiful staircase and skylight this was the main reason we had come for to see this.

The whole place was like a maze inside each room lead to another and then to some stairs we ended up spending most of the day here looking around trying to get pictures of everything.
My favourite room was this one, the young girl called Elizabeth who loved drawing her room was covered in sooty and sweep pictures along with a collection of Disney princesses and a cool pair of retro penguin slippers.

It was sad walking around as all this had just been left which at some point was someone's home. The downstairs was huge again big rooms filled with chairs and an ornate fireplace.

The kitchen and washing room was still all intact just left as it was.

Tried this a few months back, was freshly sheeted. So much so that you could see the sawdust on the floor! Nice pir on the front of the building and the stair cases were all sheeted off. Still do able just a bit of a faff.

Agreed, missed the PIR but nothing came of it!

I tried this one back at the past weekend, it's still all sheeted up and there are a few motion sensor cameras there, only on the front left of the house and on the cabin next door.. as we were leaving 'darden security' turned up at the gate, they checked the gate wasn't locked and left after half hour of sitting there. After I left I saw a police car heading that way when I was heading away from it

We did this nearly first so we got in easy but I’ve heard it’s all sheeted now as everyone has tour bussed the fuck out of it

I have been back since and you can still get in if you don't mind a bit of climbing!
The inside is still like new, almost untouched
