Steady on or these reports will start to become a habit :)

Actually looks far more trashed than went I visited a few years ago... the machinery is still worth seeing though imo.

Yeah mate Deffo well gone but as you say it's all about the processing machines. I'll have to do some research as to what the various things did as to be honest I can only guess. Depending on what animals were being processed at the time. As for the giant Kebab burner ?

I did notice on the concrete livestock stalls that they have BSP bungs on the tops which means they must have Been water heated? Nice to know they kept the animals warm before slaughter wouldn't want then catching cold no would we .

As for posting it's just a spur of the moment thing , can't say I enjoy it one little bit.

From no reports in months to 4 in no time at all, whats going on? lol

Place looks well knackered mate but defo worth the explore for those messed up machines. Pikeys probably havent touched them yet as they dont want to cut themselves up in the process of taking them away lol

Great shots mate:thumb

Cheers mate ;)

Certainly some weird machinery going on there with flails and all those rotating arms.Makes your mind go a wandering when you're stuck in the middle of it ;)

Still not searched YouTube for info on them yet.

Re. The mystery machinery, to me (and I'm not an expert but know a small bit) it looks like pig processing gear. The giant kebab oven scalds the dead pig carcass while it is still whole, hanging on the overhead rails, then following the scalding, it travels through the paddle flails whilst rotating, which removes the hair/ bristles.

History....well not much that i can find online & going off the other reports from various forums

Hargraves Meat processing facility has occupied this site since the 1940"s right through until 2001 when it closed following the Foot & mouth epedemic er ..........

Solo mooch on way way up to Northumberland for a holiday via Derp Cities, i past this place & thought it"d be rude not to call in. It"s well F@cked too say the least but going off old reports i"ve looked at today, nothing much has actually changed it seems. It"s basically trashed wall to wall & roofs as well, helped along the way with numerous fires. It"s very sketchy in places obviously, made more so when i was there by some angry faced Metal Fairies (without a transit van ironically) wandering about the place collecting their necter ;) There"s so much loose metal & broken glass around it"s bloody hard to be stealthy, & looking at what steels left my camera etc would certainly make them more money for less work. Anyway i managed to get my pics without incident until i went arse over tit outside the old substation at the rear & they popped up and headed my way, cue GTFO

Most of the building is not worth many a pic, same old same, trashed offices (although the views from some of the window frames look interesting....well looking past Middlesborough anyway :) trashed floor areas all over the lower sections until you come into the concrete stalls for the animals awaiting slaughter & you remember what went on here. Which is the only parts of interest TBH. And as i"ve never been inside an Abbatoir, there"s some right scary looking processing machines, & some more suited to ripping trees down at the roadside than i would have thought would be involved in meat production (i suppose i ought to Youtube it really) these also seem not to have changed from previous reports which is weird as it seems to be one of the few things not weighed in.....yet.

Anyway babble over :thumb

I know it seems an awful place to some, but I actually loved working here. Hard graft but loved it all the same and the majority of work mates

Thats interesting to hear, all you normally hear is how people are mentally scarred from working in these such places, just goes to show some folk have a level head & take it as a job just like any other!
