Heron Tower, London, Oct - Nov 2009
I hope nobody minds another Heron Report...
I visited this place twice, once with Kevin Arnold and the second time with another user from here. What can I say? It's big? Doesn't quite do it justice.
Anyway, the south side is going to be covered in solar panelling, in fact, some of it already is:
But of course, we weren't really there for that. The views...
From the 38th floor, one of my favourite buildings, Tower 42:
Still on the 38th, the Gherkin:
100 Middlesex Street
:
Broadgate tower:
Here's a panorama I made looking northish, click for high rez:
Mito and Kevin with T42 just poking up.
On the return visit they had added two more floors and we got to the 40th, of course the view isn't that much different from there and as you can see it was raining pretty bad. There was a storm brewing in the distance, standing on metal sheets on almost the tallest structure in the city suddenly didn't seem too appealing so we didn't hang about! I only took the one shot from there:
A few floors down and there was some shelter from the rain:
A fantastic place and two great nights out. Cheers guys
