Solo visit.

Holme Bank Chert Mine is in Bakewell, Derbyshire. It was mined until the 1960's. There was originally 8 entrances to the mine at all different levels, I managed to find 5 of these in the short time I was there.
I only had a couple of hours to have a look round, there is plenty to see underground and above ground so I will definatly be returning soon!

Plenty to look at in the yard, some mine related and some obviously added after the mine closed.

There are plenty of these left about, the ones still on the rails still move nicely!

Very suprising they are still here and in good condition!

Now a few underground shots. I haven't done much light painting before, but thought i'd have a go. Plenty of room for improvement I know!

Heading back out I felt a bit of relief, the place is a maze!
