Visited last week with Vladimir ...
Since my last visit, it's practically impossible to get inside now.
The whole site is now well maintained, as if it was in full working order.
It's such a quaint little place =]
"It was during Queen Victoria's diamond Jubilee in 1897 that Thomas MacKenzie, owner of the Dailuaine and Talisker distilleries founded Imperial, the anniversary being celebrated in his choice of name. Alas two years later Imperial was one of the many distilleries that suffered after the Pattisons of Leith crash and lay silent until 1919, DCL took control of the distillery in 1925 and promptly closed it again. It wasn't until control was handed to SMD in 1955 that Imperial began to improve and extend, most notably in 1965. A brief closure between 1985 and 1989 terminated with a final change of ownership to Allied distillers."
It was then mothballed in 1998.
