The bunker is one of three that formed the RAF 13 Group Control at Raigmore during the last war. Of the three, only the filter room is still extant. It was used by the Civil Defence Corps from 1958 - 1968 and was then used by the ROC in addition to their own protected accommodation in the former control bunker. The current owner want to convert the site to a museum and open it to the public.

Its good the new owner is doing this. Its looking good, the era of styling will be a challenge to get replicas right. Reminds me of Kelvedon :thumb

Hi there! There is another part of this bunker system most people will never be able to see. It is under the central Telephone Exchange. Until around 10 years ago it was fully kitted out with rations and essentials for a small group of people. Unfortunately it has since been emptied however the blast doors still exist as well as the duct lines towards Raigmore.
