Laguna Beach is a section of the Durban Beachfront a mile or two from the main city centre, it used to be popular with sports enthusiasts. The pools have been there since 1987 but closed in 2011. They are currently at the centre of a debate by the council over whether to demolish the pools and relocate them at Blue Lagoon further up the beachfront or to redevelop and expand the existing ones, an unpopular choice due to them being built under apartheid and the associated history that comes with that. I stumbled upon them by chance and went in to take a few photos, there wasn't a great deal to see but the location was beautiful!
