Levenshulme baths 0525
Built in 1921, the baths served the locals for many years! A steam room and gym was added later to compliment the two medium sized pools.
Due to spending cuts it was closed in 2012, this caused an uproar and locals protested the decision. Sadly, it fell onto deaf ears and the building was left to decay. Which it has done considerably!
A fire tore through it in 2023 but didn't spread far enough to gut the place. As a result it was treated to new fencing and sealed up tight - much to my dismay.
After years of having it on my wish list I decided to have another look, on my last attempt I was graced with a loud alarm and a pre-recorded announcement that Her majesties finest were on the way. I was on eggshells for a while in fear of a repeat but thankfully I was blessed with peace and quiet - apart from the pigeons of course.
Another long time wish list item ticked off and my first ever swimming pool!
