1. The History
This is a revisit for me so see the history on my previous report HERE

2. The Explore
Some places really do need a revisit. This was one of those places for me. I visited here just under two years ago. The first reason a revisit was required is that I didn’t squeeze through the small aperture in the back door to explore the former mine tunnel. Secondly, on my first visit I suffered torch meltdown. Both my torches had become switched on in my bag overnight and I rocked up only to discover torches’ batteries as flat as a pancake. I had to use my phone torch so the results were, erm, limited.

So rocked up on a rainy easter morn. Entrance is still the same as last time and pretty easy, just involving a scramble down a slate covered bank. The one door that if locked means no entry was open so in we went. Had the place to myself and this time did a proper job!

3. The Pictures

Great re visit. Images are great. That tunnel looks well hidden. Those lifts are a highlight. This place looks bigger on the inside than first impressions. But I guess we never know what lies beneath

From the pictures it looks twice the size as it use to be . It use to be a lot smaller than that

Why are waders required ? Looks like you could do that in flip flops. Bare foot roll the trousers up !!

Me too. Looking at Google Maps and old O/S maps, there's quite alot of the old quarry beyond the bomb store to get stuck into.
