Mechanical Works (were called PZL-Wola) were established in 1951 in Warsaw. They were involved in the production of diesel engines and generating sets. About 6,000 people worked here in the 1960s. The area of the entire plant is prohibited from photography and confidential. On 60 hectares, there were several huge halls and many smaller buildings, where production was in progress, and there was so much noise that employees could not talk calmly. Few of the employees knew that there were several shelters on the factory premises. The plants produced engines for Żubr A80 cars, and later even a 1000 HP engine for the PT-91M tank. The plant also produced many monuments that decorated the streets of Poland. In the 21st century, the plant began to decline, and was finally closed in 2011.
The photos are from the period 2010-2018. You can see the full set (237 photos) on my website LINK. It includes an electroplating plant, offices, fire station, shelter, laboratory, engine dynamometers and several huge halls full of equipment.

Some of the buildings had not been used before they were officially closed in 2011.

The plant used to be a strategic object, which is why it was banned from photography. The factory was well protected even a few years after it was closed.
