Those who know me know I tend to not rush out and do the latest 'flavour of the month' kind of explore, however every so often I make an exception and, although this place is the flavour of the month right now I simply had to see it.

Birmingham's Methodist Central Hall was constructed between 1903 and 1904 with seating for 2000 people in the main hall, and closed in 1991. Parts of it were reopened as a nightclub however this closed in 2002 and it laid empty for a second period of time. It was then reopened again as another club in 2007 and closed down once more in 2016, and it's been empty since.

I loved this place. Architecturally it is stunning, and there is more leaded and stained glass here than I have ever seen before. I was quite glad there was nobody else in here when we visited - I was half expecting to bump into other explorers - as it meant we had the run of the building and were left in complete peace for the duration. The main hall is obviously the big draw here however I really enjoyed poking around all the other rooms as there is a lot more in here to see than just the hall itself. I took a particular liking to the triangular staircase located in the north eastern corner of the building.

Great pictures man, wish I could revisit here. Don't know about you but when we visited there was four men and two girls, and I mean like 5 year old girls walking around the building so it was a bit of a hide and seek. As far as I know not many people have had the same issue so it was really confusing.

NIce explore! Just moved to Birmingham for university (today!) and will probably go here pretty soon. If you're ever about and fancy an explore, let me know.
Cheers

I remember when a security guard with a hammer at a certain asylum was almost a UE rite of passage.

Take the rough with the smooth man. At least you got to see some of the place first.

I understand and yeah they were boarding the entrance we used to get into the building and they just don’t even acknowledge that urban exploring has a community just like anything else and asking us why we taking pics like why do u think we are taking pics when we are in an amazing beautiful building
