History:- designed by W A Deighton in 1901. Deighton was a well-known brewery architect who was also responsible for the Grade II-listed Cook Street Brewery in Salford.
Mitchell's were established in 1865. but in 2010 english heritage tested the timbers of parts of the building and found that the 3 floor plus attic malthouse has been there since 1750, which is a factor in the building still standing as over the years there have been plans to knock it down.
