So it seemed like a good idea to pay a couple of visits here through the night.
A large site with a various array of large aperture synthesis radio telescopes.
Built over a number of years since 1958.
1.The 4C Array. 450 metres long and constructed of 60 odd km of refector cable.
2.
3.
4.ISO 12800 f2.4
5.The One Mile and Half Mile Telescopes. Set on an 800 metre track which is raised by 5cm at one end to account for the curvature of the earth.
6.
7.
8.
9.The Cosmic Anistropy Telescope. Built in 1995 was only in use for a few years.
10.Merlin. Still in use to this day.
Thanks for looking, for a few more pics check out MRAO
