Took a look to see how bad the fire damage was.
Considering it burnt for two and a half hours, and after seeing that picture of it burning, not bad at all.
It’s got concrete floors throughout though so that probably helped.

From the outside you can see all the roof timbers are charred, but inside you can’t really see any evidence until you look out of the dormer windows.
So it looks like the fire started in the attic.

Incidentally, I was told by a local why this block remains undeveloped -
when Crest were developing the rest of the site, the man who owns the water tower was negotiating to buy this building and applied for planning to turn it into affordable housing.
He wanted it to be available for nurses and student teachers.
The council finally refused but not until Crest had finished the rest and left site.
Crest still own it and they say it isn’t viable for them to come back just to convert this building.
