Scapa Flow being the largest naval base during both wars have a lot of untouched buildings that are great for an explore. One of them is the old Naval Headquarters Building in Lyness where the hunt for the Bismark took place. Walking round you can almost imagine it buzzing with naval ratings and wrens.
I had to laugh at the windows which were round. My mate said Matelots can't look through a window unless it's round. LOL
The view across Scapa Flow.
The rest of the building is quite a maze of concrete and rooms with the ever present sheep dodo all over the place so if you go there you must take a torch and wellies are a must. Make sure you're staying somewhere where there is a shower as some of this stuff is fresh and quite slippy.
A half hearted attempt to keep us out LOL
Shine your torch in and it's on with the climb as instructions are clear.
