New Heys Service Reservoir, Bolton
May 2014 - Explored with ViralEye and Kenni
Built in 1963, the reservoir is roughly 40m wide, 40m long and 5.4m high.
With its thick concrete walls, it was designed to store up to 12 million litres of water in case of a water shortage but it was never used by United Utilities, which now manages the North West’s water supply.
Planning permission was granted a few years back to convert the reservoir to residential use, dubbed 'The Womble House'.
Theres not many photos because 1) its a bastard to light up, and 2) theres only so many photos you can get of a concrete box with concrete pillars
