Ok so this is my first report. If you notice any problems or have any advice when doing this please do let me know so I can sort it.
Right was off on a drive with the Mrs and decided to stop off here and have a look. First time for both of us.
I'll keep the history but short and sweet as I'm sure you will have all covered it before.
It was designed by Thomas Fulljames and construction was finished in 1848. Was originally built to hold around 200 patients but ended up facilitating for around 1500. Was closed in sections between 1991 and 1995. Notable appearances would be when most haunted visited there in October 2008 to film a paranormal tv show for about a week.
The visit
Access was fairly straightforward as I was expecting due to the high volume of explorers it encounters. A lot of it seemed to be quite badly damaged and a few times we decided to turn back due to concerns of the structural integrity of the floor beneath us and the surrounding roofs. Started off in the main building then swiftly exited after hearing people moving about and after seeing tents and evidence of people maybe staying there I didn't fancy taking any chances... turns out it was just a group of other explorers. If it was you hi! Anyway I'll stop droning on and get some pictures up now! Bear in mind I'm no photographer and all pictures were taken on my galaxy s7 edge smart phone.
Few outside shots.
I love seeing original items in old places. Gives it an eerie feel and reminds you it was once a functioning place.
Stumbled across the old generator/utility control room. Love the industrial kind of feel.
Quick health and safety comparison..
Cheers for looking. Like I said if there's anything I can or should improve please tell me!
