Dominiating the Sheffield skyline for generations, Park Hill, now a grade 2 listed building is an example of the era of the "pre-fab" tower block. "The streets in the sky" were supposed to change the way people lived in cities for ever.
Somewhere along the way, budgets were cut, crime rates rose and problems with drugs and gangs provided these types of flats with a very different reputation to the one intended and the chances are that if you took heroin or had a serious drink problem in Sheffield in the 1990's, then you lived here.
Park Hill still dominates the Sheffield skyline but now stands 90% derelict and awaiting a long over due revamp.
I visited on a cold Sunday Morning and remembered the days and my own personal experiences of the place.
