Visited with a mate who likes to explore
Decided to try a different access route this time, my 3rd visit to Pyestock, possibly my last as the place is getting demo'd quickly by the looks of it.
Just a heads up, security are very on it, and they have loose dogs with a handler roaming the site, mostly the internal roads but also going in and out of buildings.
Won't bother everyone with the usual, here are the pics:
The main road to the entrance:
Looking from the very southern tip of the site on the car park, north:
Big water tanks:
We went in to the main stores first:
Boiler room:
Control panel:
Then inside one of the mock-up planes:
Above the fire station now, in the toilets, looking north towards the part-demolished main workshop:
Now inside, the whole space has been emptied and one end of the building smashed off:
Corridor with lots missing:
Then we got stuck for 2 hours on the roof of the cooling towers, thanks to security constantly patrolling around the air house area, which we were aiming
for but never managed. The dog handler turned up in his transit and walked 2 big black dogs and a little white one around, the whole time, whilst a land rover
and transit connect type van kept going round:
Seeing as we couldn't progress, we decided to sit it out and hope that they moved on. I snapped a few pics of the destruction and we span
ourselves round on the big cooling fans for a bit:
Looking back at the fire station where we'd been earlier:
Cooling tower fans that we spent a while spinning round on, thanks to security:
The rest of the site, looking north-east:
And that was it. Security didn't go away, and with all the new Heras fencing that's been erected around a lot of the buildings, it takes time to get past it
and would have got us caught or chased by dogs so we decided to head off as we were soaked and cold.
All the big blue pipes around the Air House have been cut up, and we saw original installed lighting on, over at the Anechoic Chamber, something I'd not seen before.
