Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford

Visited with Landie_Man and my good mate Ben (actually Landie's LOL). What a totally bangin' evening! Had a superb day with Landie and his mates round Uni Parks, before popping off to do this. Little effort and we got a pretty good prize! OK so there's no chav damage, but it's not mint in a lot of places given what the contractors have done/are doing to it at the moment. In places it is in VERY good condition though!

Found a way in, spotted about 3 internal cameras, 2 of which are impossible to dodge but meh they didn't bother or stop us! Upon entering, I thought it was gonna be shit given the amount of contractor damage and how they've left their materials lying around everywhere. However, when I found the 1st floor by the main entrance, I was blown away! It was like walking into a palace! I'm not lying, it really was!

Upon further inspection, we find some other interesting features dotted about. Oh fuck. FOOTSTEPS SOMEWHERE! We end up hiding in a room and locking ourselves in for 10 mins until we were sure there was no-one there! Eventually head upstairs to find the original accommodation for the Hospital Security, Night Porters and Nurses on the top floor. By now it was really dark, and there were PIGEONS! IN THE DARK! Fucking scary as hell man! They would jump out at us whenever we got too close! Man it was mental!

Will return to find Chapel and maybe some improved shots. But before I continue with the pics...

OK it isn't a report that's gonna blow anyone's socks off, but it was a worthwhile time - ghostly experiences and all that, totally superb. Thanks for looking - TBM.

PS. Mookie, Gas, Treads and MD, I owe you all a tour.

Any security/access details will be given to full members and friends via PM if asked.

The doorway to the left of this was locked when I went initially, and is now being bricked up as you can see. Bollocks!

Re: Radcliffe Infirmary Part 1

Light painting in daylight is destined to fail from the start. Surely your camera has an auto setting with flash turned off ?

Yeah it does. I did that, but given that there wasn't that much daylight inside it didn't work. Trust me.

what is the longest exposure time on your camera and did you try to use that today?

if the light isnt strong enough just increase exposure. only if that doesnt help do light painting.

but even in a drain today i managed to take one picture without any light painting/flash.

so if you can have exposures of around 10s a building in daylight shouldnt be a problem

30 secs. It didn't do much at all. I had to turn the brightness RIGHT up. Just use a flashgun - it's so much easier! Either that, or do a long exposure and light paint. To be honest, long exposure with no additional light doesn't do much at all. I've tried and I know.
