I was in the area and had time so had a look.
This was a ROTOR station built in the early 50's and closed in 62/63. The whole place is in poor condition, thanks to fire damage and rust!
A howling wind and noisy cows in the bungalow made me a bit edgy whilst inside the bunker
The guard cows were'nt happy with me being there
blast shutters inside the bungalow
Emergency exit and air vent
Modulator building
Inside the modulator building, literally knee deep in cow pat!
Long entrance tunnel
Next corridor
Main corridor
Main ops room with Kelvin and Hughes projector pit (with plant room in background, there would have been a dividing wall)
Projector pit
fire damage
telecoms/BT room?
remains of emergency exit stairs
I was going to have a look at the other wartime buildings on the next hill but Farmer Giles was there in his tractor, also a birdwatcher kindly reminded that i was on private property!
Thanks to Kingelvis for the advice
