Visited the site of RAF Happisburgh first ever time doing this
History
All that's left is the gun battery the remains of CHL (Chain Home Low) radar station including the concrete plinths the tower would have stood on and another building that was either the fire house or the Standby Set House anyway it has been said to have been later adapted for the use of GCI (ground control interception) there is also a small-ish dirt covord air-raid shelter on this site
there is also a type 22 pillbox at the entrance to the GCI building as i call it
the emergency gun battery was built in 1940 to replace the original one that was under threat from the eroding cliffs the gun battery's contained ex-naval 4.7 inch guns there is also a pillbox on this site as well as next to the small trail that leads up to the site
there was also an emergency radar instillation built in the outbreak of war the remaining instillation was the second built on the site and was a more modern up to date version
i didn't go over to this part as farmers crops will go over when they're up
type 22 pillbox at entrance of GCI building
