Ramsgate tunnels as I'm sure most of you know was a complex of air raid shelters tunnelled under Ramsgate during WW2. It took in a disused railway tunnel that ran from the main line railway down to the seafront as part of it. A majority of the tunnels were unlined chalk with the entrance ways being strengthened with concrete. There were 23 entrances originally, you can still see evidence of some of these around Ramsgate town centre.

Just beyond this blocked tunnel entrance is the main line railway

Remains of some very old fairground bumper cars

Tunnel looking the other way, it's about 1000 yards long end to end.

There's a ton of stuff dumped in random positions in the tunnel. Most of it dates from the 1980's when it was much easier to get into the place.

They created an entrance point in the side of the railway tunnel at one point.

There's loads of chalk engravings if you look hard enough.

Just beyond where I'm standing is a roof fall, I didn't see if it was possible to climb over as I was really pushed for time. I didn't anticipate actually getting into the place, so I hadn't really allowed enough time to explore it properly!
