After seeing @Bikin Glynn report on this church I decided to have a nosey as it's only 10 minutes from me.

Now, I have been a long time lurker of this site for around 10 years but only recently taken exploration seriously as my teenage son as taken a massive interest In it. This is my first report so please bear with!

I couldnt find a whole great deal of info about this church, the last article I found was from 2015 and it stated that the church was up for sale for £120000.

paragraph copied from Wiki:

St John's was built in 1834 to a design by Lewis Vulliamy.[5] A grant of £3,253 (equivalent to £330,000 as of 2021) was given towards its construction by the Church Building Commission. The church was declared redundant in March 2008 due to a declining congregation.

The explore:

After scouting the grounds and bypassing the nosey groundsman we headed round the back of the church and found an entry point. Bit of a tight squeeze but easy enough. As we headed to the second floor it was rotten as hell and I almost went through it, being saved only by the grapple of my sons hand! I spotted another set of steps leading up to, I presume the clock tower... but I dared not to risk it!

I'm no professional when it comes to photography and I only use my phone but here are the pics:

Nice to hear you've made the jump and started exploring with your son. The start of some good adventures, I'm sure. Solid first report to boot.

Welcome welcome welcome. Good 1st report. This is a stunning church. So photogenic. I like the decay here. The craftsmanship is superb and makes for great images.
