Report - Rosslynlee hospital june 2018

Rosslynlee was first opened as Midlothian and Peebles asylum is 1874. In 1948 it became Rosslynlee Mental Hospital. Parts of the hospital started closing, until it's final closure in early 2011

This was the first stop on the trip into Scotland. I didn't think it was going to happen place was well sealed up pretty tight.Result we are In..i was told there's a caretaker inside.sobwe was been quiet. He'd booted someone out week before. The wasn't much to see realy apart from decay which is nice on here. Then we found the little Morgue.

So glad you guys made it in! Didn’t think it was gonna happen when you messaged PV saying the way we went in was sealed. Great pics man, really happy you got to see it before development starts.

Love this. We attempted the place back in 2015, and in typical fashion we showed up on the exact same day as the alarm engineers - as you can imagine, this didn’t end too well! At the time I wasn’t too upset, as I never thought it looked especially good, but now I’m not so sure.. looks more interesting than Sunnyside to me!

wow thats gone a bit downhill. I popped in here for a wander back in 2011 when it just closed. Always liked that yellow corridor. Thanks for the update.

Couldn’t find any entrances. That wouldn’t involve a huge fall or disturbing too much asbestos. How did Yous get in ?

This place gets checked and sealed on a daily basis. The numbers spray painted on every board are for cut to size metal sheets that are going to be put up soon before development starts.

Aye I’ve realised. On a few visits we spoke to the security guy but they really have put effort in to seal it up. There is a nurses home that you can freely access in the grounds that they don’t care about boarding up was rather interesting but please don’t go without taking asbestos precautions the place is Doused with asbestos fibres from when people have removed wiring and pipes. This isn’t one for b&q disposable masks.

I’m well aware of the risks. You would be horrified if you saw the basement below the main, it’s like snow in there.
