On sunday afternoon we went along the the Secret Bunker by Anstruther in Fife. It's been a good few years since I've been and since reading things on this site and elsewhere I though I'd probably get a bit more out of it this time. I'd also thought I'd share it with you lot.

It was active from 1953 to 1993 when it came off the official secrets list. Not even the locals knew it was there for all those years. There are some interesting and not often seen bits of memorabilia and info about the cold war. There is a cinema showing 'The War Game' which was discussed on a previous thread and a good canteen and free web access. It's quite amusing as they've set up dummys in old clothes in a lot of the rooms to reconstruct happenings.

If you're in the area for a bit and at a loose end it's definitely an experience and an education. Take your wallet though cos it's £8 to get in. The chips are good at least.
