Busy day today as this was my 2nd explore!
Somerton Telephone Exchange has little info on the net that I could find with a quick perusal.
Anyways, I believe it must have closed approx 2001 judging by the telephone directories found in there.
Bad condition due to kids vandalising but still one or two interesting nuggets.
Poor Barn Owl found its way in but alas failed to exit via same route! Fortunately though we saw signs of healthy, happy owls in occupation so the demise of this building has been a boon for our beautiful birds of prey.
The bomb alarm makes the mind boggle. Does it hark back to the days when certain Irish groups may target a telecoms exchange, or is it altogether more sinister! Who knows!
Not the most exciting of explores but worthy of a look if youre in the area.
