Report - St Andrews Asylum, Norwich - June 2022

Very new to the urbex scene and this is my first thread so any advice would be greatly appreciated! 21st June 2021 - visited what’s left of St Andrews asylum. From doing abit of research the 2 buildings left are part of the main administration building and further back in the trees is what’s rumoured to be the morgue. Unfortunately I didn’t take and pictures of this. The morgue wasn’t accessible, completely boarded up, but there was 2 access points into the main building. After exploring the area we were about to leave and we saw flowers that had been put down in tribute to somebody named ‘Gemma’. We googled the name and location and there was actually a murder that took place last year inside the suspected ‘morgue’. Which gave the exploration abit more of a spooky vibe. I mean no disrespect to the victim. There is also now a new mental health hospital behind the old one, which we found out is used to house criminals rather than them being sent to prison. For one of my first explorations I was absolutely buzzing coming away from it and I can’t wait to find some new locations to explore.

Looks like a cracking little find, was you not able to get inside as I don't think I see any pictures of the inside?

It is possible to get inside, I Went in briefly but I didn’t get any pictures, planning to go back again soon an explore more of the inside. There’s no access to the above floor, they’ve demolished the part of the building where the stairs were, so I’ll have to leave that to my imagination

Just looked so clean and in perfect condition considering the time the building has sat there for!

Was going to say, if you look at the front of the building, you'll find the morgue, just to your left. There's nothing inside worth seeing now.
