How do all, sadly I've got chuff all Urbexing done for chuffing ages now having been photographing weddings full time but I stumbled across these at the weekend on a crusty old CF card and as soon as I started editing them I had an overwhelming desire to get back into the murky world of pigeon shit, asbestos dust and flooded cellars so I'm determined to start getting back out and about again :-)
I took these on a trip around Birmingham and looking at the other pics on the card it was thrashing it down with rain... presumably I never got around to editing them.
St Gerrards Hospital - It mainly served the Catholic boys home on the same site and has sat abandoned since its closure in 1988. Opened in 1913 and was used in the First World War as a VAD hospital for wounded soldiers; after the war it specialised in TB and orthopaedic services. I think its been leveled now for new housing :-(
Ta for looking!
