Everyone's heard of celluloid, it's what films are produced on, it's a household name, but Xylonite, there's a great name for the same thing and if Hollywood had been in the UK maybe Xylonite would be in everybodys mind these days.
The thing about Xylonite though, is it's a bit fond of the old flash, bang, boom reaction. Not so clever, and the process needs some clued up geezers to keep it from getting out of hand. Walthamstow folks got a bit edgy with a works on their doorstep, so in 1938 the company built another one up at Manningtree. And bits of it are going still. Other bits aren't, and they are a real time capsule.
Visited with dweeb (squeaky pop) and speed (ka-boom). Fortunately I managed to capture some of the most blurred shots I've ever taken, don't know what I was doing, but I was having epic fun, there's so much oldschool lab stuff here!
Death Medics, where were you???
