No, the title isn't a typo! This was nearly three years ago, but as a newcomer to the forum, I thought it was a good example of my past work... This place no longer exists, as it was demolished around Dec '11, and I think I managed to catch it just before the local chav contingent found it and ruined it (I went back a couple of months later and the leather couch had sadly been sprayed with the highly intelligent phrase "fuck bitches". Very clever.) :wanker

Anyway, this place has a rich history:

Originally, it was built and used as an air force barracks in WW2 for foreign pilots and engineers, mainly from Canada, where they would stay for a couple of days before being deployed to one of the many airfields surrounding York.
After the war, it was used as a night school for adults up until the 1970's, when it was taken over by the Yorkshire Museum, located in the nearby Museum Gardens, and used as a kind of exhibit storage facility. There were still a lot of artifacts from that period of the site's history, with many of the museum exhibits still being in remarkable condition.
