The Orders of St John is the second largest not for profit elderly care provider in the UK, owning and running 73 Care Homes in Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. I can't find any history on this particular home of theirs, but I can safely assume from the style it was built in the 70s, and judging by the visitors book it looks like it closed just before or after Christmas 2006, probably because of the changing regulations which required every room to be en-suite. At some point in the intervening years it has suffered a fire to the reception lobby and a fire in a smaller outbuilding which I didn't investigate on this trip.
Once inside, the water damage is the worst I have ever seen. The roof seems to be just hanging on in many parts so quite a large amount of plasterwork off ceilings has fallen in. Once you filter out the water damage, there really isn't a lot of chav damage and there is loads of stuff left in situ, albeit scattered around the place.
Explored on my own, without a tripod, on a rainy horrible wet day, so apologies for the quality of some of the pics as they aren't up to my usual standard.
