Since reading rookinella's report ages ago, i've wanted to visit this place. Then a recent report by emotive69 reminded me i'd already left it too long, so this morning i headed towards Durham with a brand spanking new wheel on the bugmobile.
The weather was not kind today, however that did not ruin the fun, the chapel is worth the trip alone.
The main buildings are grade II listed, the College Chapel is grade II* and the Chapel of St Michael is grade I. The original college buildings (1804–1808) were designed by James Taylor.
In 2010 it was announced that the rest of the college is to close in 2011 due to the shortage of vocations in the Roman Catholic Church.
