Why did you not just ask for a site induction and an escorted tour instead of putting yourselves at risk. You could possibly have endagered others by your actions i.e. interference with equipment. Very irresponsible and very very sad. Good day.

I think it could be because of this, after all safety is paramount isn't it Simon as he says he's a "Construction safety officer; Ex Royal Engineers; Gentleman; devastatingly good looking chap; all round good egg." I tend to disagree with the devastating good looking chap having seen the photos, but I'm sure your mum told you you were @Siscouser

The other way to look at it is that the owners of the site have failed in their duty of care to the public due to the lack of site security? What if it was children who had access the site, fallen through a roof, got hurt on equipment, were exposed to chemicals or even just tripped over; instead of a couple of experienced explorers.

That would have very irresponsible and very very sad. Sometimes safety officers get a bit blinkered or just find it easier to pick on / point the finger at smaller breaches of safety and forget to take in the bigger picture. Fair enough there is Heinrich's Accident Triangle that show small things lead to a more serious event, but the difference between experienced explorers being on the site over the possibility of children is a different matter, that's my opinion anyway.

well said TLR, thanks for that. And Siscouser - you're entitled to have your opinions of course, but considering this is an "urban exploration" site, then surely the title gives it away of what we do around here? If you are hell-bent on opposing it then im baffled as to why you signed up to the site in the first place.

Probably because you don't understand why people do it, just like I don't understand why people like football like yourself. I suppose it keeps the streets safe for the 90 odd minutes that it's played, but the thug mentality, tribal culture, racism, sexism, not to mention the cost of policing and repairs to the street furniture afterwards it results in.

As said I don't understand why people do it, but don't go onto football forums and make statement on what people enjoy doing. I'd prefer to be out exploring a derelict building or painting my shed wearing full PPE after of course reading at the COSHH information and MSDS after risk assessing the job and implementing suitable controls to reduce the risks to ALARP

Cheers OT, was a nice site, spotted it in leads and rumours a couple weeks back and it didn't fail to disappoint once we checked it out, Tudor was part of our north east heritage.... just a shame there are some numpties out there who purely sign up here to "have a go".
Gosh... a couple years in semi-retirement and i come back to research/visit a site and all this palava! ridiculous :-)
