It sometimes gets depressing only seeing failed and derelict industry - so, when the opportunity arose, I couldn't resist a night-time wander about.

Weir Pumps is a venerable Glasgow company - they started out making pumps for marine use, but have diversified into other specialist pumps for industry and nuclear power. They recently merged with Union Pumps to form ClydeUnion Pumps, and signed a new lease on their large Glasgow factory.

First building I got into was the X-Ray facility, which also had some manufacturing and was linked to the nuclear power pumps section.

See the blue light on the roof in the above picture? That was welding glare from the bloke welding just behind that curtain :)

Next, into the testing building where pumps are rigged up and tested. First a small test room:
