Report - White Oak Leisure Centre, Swanley - Feb 2022

It had been a while since we had visited Swanley (last time was to visit a couple of very trashed schools and a burnt-out wedding venue!), so when we heard that this leisure centre had been closed and was about to be demolished, we thought it was time to go back.
The centre was built in 1967 but had become too expensive to run or update, being filled with asbestos.

Seems to be an ongoing trend at the moment when a lot of councils handed over care for leisure centres to private firms before lock down. Such a shame.... In one hand
