This was my last stop after 6 hours of climbing cranes and rooftops in Warsaw that night.. It was already 6 in the morning, after having another coffee and cigarettes (just like in Jarmusch movie 
) I headed towards Wola Gasworks. I've seen the pictures of gas tanks before, no suprise that they are called Warsaw Colosseum.
Gasometers are not very common in Poland, there are none in my city, the only one I've ever seen is actually the one from Keitei amazing report from Gdansk here : http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums...3296-gda-sk-gas-holder-poland-may-2013-a.html.
I finally arrived (took me ages cause I really wanted to take a tram, which wasn't really going in the right direction hahha) and they looked stunning.
After 30 hours with no sleep, I was still full of excitement... Walked around bricked wall for ages trying to find a hole, I had enough of climbing for the night. And of course I had to climb it anyway
I entered the first one and it was breathtaking, such a beautiful structure! Climbing up the stairs was pretty dodgy, I must say that I prefer metal steps to rotten, old wooden ones... Some of the wooden boards were missing, some of too dodgy to stand on, arghhh it wasn't a pleasant walk or climb
But it was worthy...
Here is some info about Wola Gasworks:
Two red brick tanks were built between 1886-1888.
Destroyed during the war, (artillery shells hit the tank), were rebuilt and opened in 1945.
Gas metal containers were destroyed in the 70s. They housed thousands of cubic meters of gas. Gas production stopped in 1978.
